I’m delighted to be invited back to UPTOWN LOCKDOWN – an online broadcast by The Duke Ellington Society UK (DESUK), hosted by Frank Griffiths. Joining us is Brian Priestley, the pianist, jazz nerd, broadcaster and author (with critical biographies on Parker, Coltrane, Mingus, the Rough Guide to Jazz). We’ll be talking, amongst other things, about Love You Madly, the album Brian, the Jazzpar Prizewinner, Tony Coe, and I made of Ellington and Strayhorn’s music at the end of the last century. And, latency and internet-permitting, perhaps even playing some music!
