Yorkshire Jazz Orchestra

Led by the veteran composer, arranger, drummer and educator, Tony Faulkner, the Yorkshire Jazz Orchestra brings together the best musicians in the region to play quality original and contemporary jazz. Louise Gibbs is honoured to be resident singer with the band.

The project has been a labour or love for its musical director and 20 core players, tackling some of the most subtle and demanding writing for large ensemble in jazz today. Louise Gibbs & 5 Pieces of Silver

Five Pieces of Silver celebrate the joyous and enduringly soulful music of legendary pianist-composer Horace Silver. His Song for My Father; Nica’s Dream; Peace; Horacescope; Señor Blues; Sister Sadie, The Preacher are the mainstay of the jazz repertoire, and these and lesser-known material have been lovingly compiled and transcribed by 5PoS’s bassist, Paul Baxter and pianist, Zezo Olimpio.
