LG jazz vocal workshop – 16 May

If you’re looking for a freer jazz approach to your singing and performing then this one-day workshop on Saturday 16 May, 11.00-17.00 is for you. You’ll learn new tunes, explore your “jazz sound”, discover the basic protocols of jazz including how to improvise, learn to direct a band, and perform with greater confidence.

The jazz vocal workshop takes place in Louise’s home studio in Headingley, Leeds, and welcomes singers from all genres (including pop, soul, gospel, classical, folk). Try out some new repertoire. Or bring your own material.

You’ll be accompanied by a live trio – working with some of the best musicians on the UK scene: Sam Leak (piano), Simon Read (bass), & Sam Gardner (drums).

Louise brings depth of experience and expertise both as a performing artist and educator. She was course leader at Leeds College of Music for the jazz and postgraduate programmes 2007-2011, taught at Goldsmiths, University of London and Guildhall School of Music and has run workshops in most major UK conservatoires. She is voice tutor for the Jamie Aebersold clinics in the UK.

£75 for the day (£60 full time student) – includes lunch & refreshments. For more information and to book a place: louise@jazzmine.co.uk or 07813 684077
